Lieutenant Michael A. McColley, NRP was appointed to the Emergency Medical Services Division in July 1989 and enrolled in the Medical Center of Delaware Paramedic Education Program. He successfully complete the Paramedic Education Program in June 1990.
Lt. McColley has been assigned to several paramedic units during his tenure as a paramedic, including Medic 5 (Southern New Castle County), Medic 6 (Glasgow), and Medic 9 (Power Shift, Newark). He was promoted to the rank of Paramedic Corporal in April 2004 following the implementation of the EMS Career Development Plan. He was promoted to the rank of Paramedic Sergeant in 2013 and assigned as a field supervisor in the Operations Branch.
Lt. McColley holds an Associate in Applied Sciences degree in Emergency Services Management from Delaware Technical and Community College, where he has also served as an adjunct instructor for the Paramedic Training Program. He is also a graduate of the West Point Command and Leadership Academy sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police.
Lt. McColley has received several official commendations, including a Department of Public Safety Letter of Commendation
