  3. Copic Marker Drawing and Illustration

    Six 1½-hour classes. Learn Copic basics, blending, transforming sketches into illustrations and creating detailed works of art. Class suggested for students comfortable creating own sketches and working on art between classes. Teens/Adults Supplies: Participants can bring their own Copic markers or purchase a pack of 3 markers for $18 from the instructor on the first day of class. Recommended starter colors are any of the following: C1, C3, C5, C7, N0, N2, N4, N6, W1, W3, W5 or W7. Drawing papers and pencils will be provided in class.

    Five 2-hour classes at Glasgow Park Bank Barn and various sites in park. Revitalize your creative energy. Paint outdoors in a serene setting and learn to capture the surroundings using Watercolor, Acrylic or Gouache. Composition and color will be broken down to their most simple components. All abilities are welcome. Adults Materials: - Bag for carrying supplies - Sketchbook (small or medium) - Drawing pencils, eraser, sharpener - Pad of watercolor paper (smooth or rough, no larger than 8x10) - Board to work on (as large as the paper) - Painters tape Paint: - Watercolors, acrylic or Gouache. Colors: reds (cadmium red and alizarin crimson), yellows (cadmium yellow light and lemon), blues (French ultramarine blue and cerulean), green (viridian), raw umber, black, white (2 tubes) - Variety of watercolor brushes - Small cloth towel and/or baby wipes - Empty can for water - Portable stool - Portable easel (if wish to not set board on lap) - Hat, sunscreen, drinking water

Sept. 19th "Reverend Samuel Eakin, the fighting parson" He served in both the NJ & DE militia during the American Revolutionary War, was the first Pastor at the Pencader Presbyterian Church to preach in English (as opposed to Welsh), and (mysteriously), interred at Pigeon Run Cemetery near Red Lion. Presented by George Widger, Friends of Pigeon Run Cemetery and the Pencader Heritage Area Assoc.
