Protection Strategy for Scenic Byways Working Group Meeting
Friday, September 13, 2019
The Working Group for the Protection Strategy for Scenic Byways, Watershed Areas, and Villages will meet on Sept. 13, 2019 at 2:00pm to consider the recently released enhanced fact sheet, as well as background on the project, and potential future story maps.
Background: Over the past year, the Dept. of Land Use has hosted working group meetings and public workshops that highlighted ongoing planning efforts along National and State Byways. These planning efforts focused on methods of preservation along the Brandywine Valley National Scenic Byway, the Red Clay Valley Byway, and portions of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway. Since the initial meeting, the Department has continued to work with community leaders, stakeholders, and residents to develop a protective strategy for scenic byway areas and their associated watersheds and cultural resources.
