NEWARK, Del. -- New Castle County Police arrested Darrell Stokes, a 28-year-old male who resides in Wilmington, DE., on drug offenses after he was found to be in possession of 436 bags of heroin in a Newark motel.
Police arrested Stokes after the NCCPD Mobile Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a motel room he had been staying in.
On Tuesday (07/15), New Castle County Police Mobile Enforcement Team officers responded to the 200 block of East Main Street Newark, DE. (Super 8 Motel) for the execution of a search warrant that was obtained as a result of an ongoing drug investigation. During the month of July, M.E.T. officers learned that Stokes had been selling heroin in the Hunters Crossing Apartments located off of Kirkwood Highway, in Newark, DE.
During the execution of the search warrant, Stokes was found to be in possession of 436 bags of heroin (6.54 grams).
Darrell Stokes was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $102,000 cash bail.
