New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program

The New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to engage low income New Castle County residents ages 14-20 in meaningful paid work-based learning that helps them launch their careers. The program runs annually from June - August. Youth are exposed (many for the first time) to the world of work that enables them to learn about the variety of occupations available, in and around New Castle County, while getting paid for their time.

Youth Applicant’s Photo Identification:

  • Government-issued (not expired) photo ID or driver’s license OR
  • Current school-issued photo ID OR
  • United States passport

Proof of Parental/Guardian Income:

  • 2019 W-2; ORThree (3) most recent pay stubs; OR
  • Agency letter verifying TANF, social security, pension/retirement benefits, DE Healthy Child Program, or other sources of income, if applicable; OR
  • If the parent/guardian is self-employed, business license with most recent business tax return
