The Art Studio is the arts education center of New Castle County's Department of Community Services. We offer classes year-round for artists of all ages, skill levels and abilities. Take a look at the current catalog and register for upcoming classes! 

  1. Mon Mar. 1 - Mon Mar. 22

    VIRTUAL FIBER ARTS We will explore the many ways of creating art with different fibers. Students will make small weaving, sewing and embroidery projects. Open to all levels. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. This course has an additional $30 materials fee that is collected at registration. Ages: 16+. Zoom meeting invitation and material list will be sent out after registration. Weekly Projects: Sharpie bags/flags Weaving Embroidered Motto's Needle felt painting
  2. Wed Mar. 3 - Wed Mar. 24

    VIRTUAL BEYOND BEGINNER'S WATERCOLOR Four 2-hour virtual classes. Explore the use of light, shadow and color to create forms using watercolors. Focus on painting from life. Previous experience required. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class.?Ages: 16+
  3. Fri Mar. 5 - Fri Mar. 26

    VIRTUAL ACRYLIC PAINTING Four 2-hour virtual classes. Learn fundamental painting techniques and create a painting from still life, landscapes or colorful abstraction. Explore adding mediums for transparency, texture, color mixing and mark making. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. Zoom meeting invitation and material list will be sent out after registration. Ages: 16+
