    Fix It Café Bring your broken lamp, vacuum, waffle iron, sewing machine or any one item that you can carry and work beside a volunteer experienced in repairs to fix it! Partnership with Lowe’s of Bear and the University of Delaware American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Adults, Youth 10-17 with an Adult. There are certain items that we cannot accept at the Fix It Cafe. This includes gas-powered tools (eg lawn mowers) and complex electronic devices (eg laptops). Tell us what you are bringing to the Fix It Cafe so we can be sure we can help you repair it! Volunteers needed: The Fix-It Cafe relies on its volunteers to help residents fix their broken items. If you know someone who likes to tinker and would like to help, register at - newcastlede.gov/volunteer.

    History Quiztory Battles, bad-guys, heroes and innovators. Our local history is down-right thrilling! Join the many fans of these fun expert-led presentations to learn about the area’s super-interesting past and see related artifacts and objects. Each session concludes with a fun mini-quiz and prizes. Registration required. Ages 12-Adults. FREE. June's History Quiztory will feature “Voices from the Past – Pvt. James Elbert, Co. C, 8th Infantry USCT” –Interpretation by Laura Lee & Willis Phelps from the Friends of the African Union Church Cemetery.
