Motorcycle Patrol Community Services Unit Information & Analysis Unit Criminal Investigation Unit Crisis Negotiation Team Evidence Detection Unit Professional Development Unit K-9 Unit Motorcycle Unit Ordnance Disposal Police Athletic League Special Weapons & Tactics Unit Traffic Services Unit Walking and Bike Patrol Mounted Patrol Unit  Patrol Division   The New Castle County Police Department motorcycle function consists of four Harley Davidson Road King Police Package motorcycles.  These motorcycles are operated by officers from a range of different functions throughout the department and are primarily used for special events such as parades and escorts.  The function began in 1993 when the department purchased the first group of motorcycles.  Since that time they have been utilized in various events and capabilities including patrol duties.  Officers selected to ride as part of the motorcycle function, receive a 40 hour block of training from the Philadelphia Highway Patrol Division or equivalent.
