Police Locate Marijuana Grow Operation, 26 Pounds Seized
New Castle County Police have arrested a husband and wife for felony drug violations after detectives executed a search warrant at their home and found a large scale marijuana grow operation inside. Police found the operation was complete with grow lamps, egg crates, plastic plant pots, 26 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of marijuana seeds.

Theft Suspect’s Identity Sought
New Castle County Police are currently investigating the theft of a credit card that was taken from an unlocked vehicle in Dartmouth Woods that occurred in May. Investigators have recovered a surveillance photograph that shows a female subject using the card to purchase a carton of cigarettes just after the theft occurred.

Man Steals Elderly Victim’s Debit Card, Goes on $9,000 Spending Spree
New Castle County Police have arrested Lamar Evans, a 22 year old male who resides in the unit block of the Villas Drive in the Villas Apartments. He has been charged with identity theft (with the victim being over the age of 62) and felony theft after police confirmed he has stolen his elderly neighbor’s debit card from his home. He is accused of using the victim’s credit card to take a vacation at the Poconos, to purchase diamond jewelry, electronic equipment and a used car.

He has been charged with trespassing with the intent to peep, burglary and unlawful sexual contact after he broke into a neighboring home (after peeping through the window and watching the female resident) and sexually assaulting the teen.

New Castle County Police are currently investigating a fraud case involving an elderly mane who was targeted by two conmen. The victim, who resides in the Jarrell Farms community, was contacted by the suspects who convinced him that his driveway needed repair. After the job was completed, the suspects originally charged the victim $4,900.

New Castle County Police are warning area residents in the Claymont community of an elderly male subject who attempted to lure an 11 year old girl into his car yesterday afternoon. The suspect asked the girl to go with him so she could play with his granddaughter. When the girl refused, he offered her candy and told her it was okay and that they would not tell anyone.

Arrested at Second Church Function
New Castle County Police have arrested John Vattilano, a 39 year old male who resides in the unit block of Millwright Drive in Newark, DE. He has been charged with felony theft after he posed as a volunteer for the St. John the Beloved Catholic Church’s annual carnival and stole cash from the ticket sale booth. Vattilano was arrested a few days later at the St. Anthony’s carnival in Wilmington while acting in a suspicious manner.

Fleeing Suspect Jumps from 2nd Story Window,
Apprehended later on Rooftop of Local Store
New Castle County Police have arrested a total of four fugitives (who were wanted for local offenses) while they were searching for a particular 17 year old male who was wanted for a residential burglary. As officers were surrounding a residence, the teen jumped from a 2nd story window in an attempt to avoid apprehension. The teen was later found hiding on the roof of the nearby Hank’s House of Liquors package store. At the time of his arrest, he had several injuries that were not necessarily from the jump. Evidently, he had attempted to rob another teen of his IPod earlier in the day in the community of Collins Park. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong kid to rob as the victim defended himself and thwarted the robbery attempt by fighting back and beating the teen in self defense.

Man Charged with Assaulting Girlfriend, Found with Loaded Handgun
New Castle County Police have arrested Edmond Dejesus, a 25 year old male who resides in the 3000 block of Court Avenue in Claymont. He has been charged with a number of criminal offenses after police found him hiding underneath his girlfriend’s bed while knowing he was wanted for assaulting her. Police later found his loaded handgun concealed in a nearby dresser drawer. Dejesus has previously been convicted of a felony and has since been prohibited from owning/possessing deadly weapons.
