Pedestrian Stop Leads to Drug Bust
New Castle County Police have arrested Sandy Golden, a 20 year old male who resides in the 900 block of Lexington Road in Newark. He has been charged with felony drug offenses after he and his friend were stopped by police for walking on the roadway without a light and later found to have 31 individual packages of crack cocaine on his possession.

New Castle County Police have arrested Dewane Stevenson, a 25 year old male who resides in the 2200 block of Carter Street in Wilmington. He has been charged with felony traffic related offenses and resisting arrest after he crashed his grandmother’s Oldsmobile while attempting to flee from police.

Police Warn of Public of Rash of Residential Burglaries
68% of Homes, Sheds, and Garages Left Unsecured
During the week of May 5th through May 11th, the New Castle County Police Department investigated 28 residential burglaries throughout the county. Investigators have found that 19 of the break-ins occurred at homes and sheds that were left unsecured or completely open. Over the years, the police department has pleaded with residents to lock your homes, cars, shed and any other locations where valuables are kept. Once again, we would like to remind the public of the importance of securing your valuables.

Ten Foot Tall Giraffe Statue Stolen, Other Inanimate Objects Missing
During the past ten days, the New Castle County Police has investigated thefts of at least three statues that have been stolen from homes in New Castle and Newark and a business in Pike Creek. The most recent theft investigation involved the larceny of a 10 foot tall giraffe stolen from the Delcastle Miniature Golf Course on Millcreek Road.

Estranged Boyfriend Wanted for Early Morning Burglary, Terroristic Threatening
New Castle County Police have arrest warrants on file for Matthew Zambanini, a 28 year old male who resides in the 600 block of Loveville Road in Hockessin, DE. He is wanted for burglary and related offenses after he kicked in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and threatened to kill her parents during a domestic dispute.

Pedestrian critically injured after colliding with car
New Castle County Police are investigating a crash between a single car and a pedestrian that occurred on 05/08/08 at 5:40 p.m. on Stanton Avenue near the intersection with Rock Avenue, Wilmington DE. Jeffrey Sassi, Sr., who is a 47 year old male and resides in the 300 block of Green Valley Road, Newark, was treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics and members of the Minquas volunteer fire company, has been admitted to Christiana Hospital in critical condition with head, neck, chest and internal injuries.

New Castle County Police are attempting to locate 23 year old Andrew N. Bingham, 2nd, who’s last known address was in the 800 block of Kenyon Lane, Newark DE. Bingham is wanted by County police for felony Robbery and Conspiracy charges stemming from an incident that occurred in the Unit block of Garrett Road, Newark, DE. Two other suspects have already been arrested in connection with this incident.

Man arrested after child pornography found
New Castle County Police have arrested Kenneth Fink, a 47 year old male who resides in the 1000 block of Parkside Drive, OakLane Manor, Wilmington, DE on 10 counts of Unlawfully Dealing in Child Pornography after images of children in various sexual situations were found on computers in his possession. Fink is currently being held in the Howard Young prison in lieu of $10,000 cash only bail. His parole has also been violated.

Police officers bicycle 305 miles to honor fallen officers
On Sunday May 11, 2008, the Police Unity Tour, a group of approximately 500 bicycle riders, will pass through Delaware on their 305 mile journey to Washington D. C. for Police Memorial Week. The tour begins on Friday May 9th in Jersey City, New Jersey and concludes on Monday May 12 at approximately 2 PM when the riders will reach their final destination, the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

New Castle County Police have arrested Brandon Strous, a 24 year old male who resides in the 800 block of Moores Lane in New Castle. He has been charged with one count of a hate crime, criminal mischief and harassment after he spray painted derogatory racial slurs on the side of a person’s vehicle.

Man Shot After firing Shotgun Blasts Toward Officers
A 25 year old Bear man was shot by an officer late Friday after he intentionally fired his own shotgun two times toward additional officers while refusing to drop the weapon and converging on the officers who had taken cover. The rounds went over the officer’s heads and struck a car and an occupied home. The suspect, Michael Good of the unit block of Croyden Road, sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body as an officer returned fire. He is presently undergoing treatment at the Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

A 33 year old male, who had reportedly ingested 40 Percocet pills, was rescued by a police canine and handler who successfully tracked him into a nearby wooded area. The barely coherent victim was located hunched over near a tree and later rushed to the Wilmington Hospital for treatment.

Police have linked him to a series of sexual encounters he engaged in with an 8 year old family member. Davis has been charged with seven counts of rape in the first degree, seven counts of a dangerous crime against a child, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and ten counts of unlawful sexual contact.

3 Month Old Child Suffers Life Threatening Injuries, Father Arrested
New Castle County Police have arrested Stanley Watson, a 25 year old male who resides in the Harbor House Apartments. Watson’s three month old son has been hospitalized for more than three weeks after sustaining multiple fractured ribs and serious injuries to his kidney and liver. Watson was arrested today and charged with felony assault by abuse or neglect and felony endangering the welfare of a child.
