NCCPD Seeks Public’s Assistance in Identifying Theft and Fraud Suspect

Credit Card Fraud-1.jpg

Last Friday (11/06), New Castle County Police Patrol Officer F. Giannetti responded to the 100 block of Woodshade Drive, in the community of Woodshade, for the report of a theft from a motor vehicle and credit card fraud.

The victim noticed some unauthorized charges on a credit card and responded outside to his vehicle to look for his card. The victim discovered that his wallet was missing from inside his vehicle and called 911 for a report.

Upon the officer’s arrival, the 61-year-old victim told police that his wallet was taken from his unsecured vehicle overnight. The victim also advised that shortly after he discovered his wallet missing, a passerby found his wallet a few streets away and returned it. The victim advised there were several credit cards and a small amount of cash still missing.

Officer Giannetti began an investigation and was able to determine that the stolen credit cards were used at two (2) convenience stores in New Castle County. Surveillance pictures from those stores were obtained (below) and depict what appears to be a white male in his 20’s or 30’s making purchases with the stolen credit cards. That subject’s identification is requested so that he may be questioned in regards to this investigation.

The New Castle County Police are asking for anyone with information on this incident or the identity of this subject to contact Officer F. Giannetti by calling (302) 573-2800 or email him at FJGiannetti@nccde.org .

The New Castle County Police are also asking all residents of the area to be observant to their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity observed. Any person or vehicle out of place should be reported by calling (302) 573-2800 or 911.
