Police Canine “Loki,” Apprehends Burglary Suspect

New Castle County Police arrested a burglary suspect after he was apprehended by a police canine while still inside a victim’s residence.

On Friday (08/22) at 7:35 a.m., County Police responded to the 900 block of Causez Avenue in Claymont, Delaware located within the community of Northridge, in reference a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they contacted a family member of the victim who had stopped by the residence.

The victim’s relative advised she entered the residence and found an unknown male asleep on the floor of an upstairs bedroom. After locating the suspect, the relative exited the residence and called 911.

Assisting officers quickly responded and set up a perimeter around the residence awaiting the canine team. Officer First Class Robert Williams and his canine partner “Loki” arrived on scene, and after numerous canine announcements, “Loki” was deployed into the residence.
