Discover fresh adventures and support local authors and artists at the Hockessin Art & Book Fair

Hockessin, Del. – Mark your calendar for the annual Hockessin Art & Book Fair on Saturday, November 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hockessin Community Recreation Center, located in the Hockessin PAL at 7259 Lancaster Pike. This free event showcases more than 60 local independent and self-published authors, artists and publishers, and features live performances, author readings for adults and kids, cos-play opportunities and much more. New for this year are story time readings by authors in the children’s corner and a Café selling snacks. Get a free Hockessin Art & Book Fair bag (first-come, first served while supplies last) and enter for your chance to win books and more throughout the day!

Attendees can meet dozens of regional and local authors and artists who will have works on display and for sale and writers can meet on-site with local publishers. The Hockessin Art & Book Fair features honorary chairs author Sharon Huss Roat, author of the Young Adult novels Between the Notes and How to Disappear and artist Lee Zimmerman, also known as The Puppet Guy, who has been performing his rock and roll marionette show around the world from more than 30 years.

“‘When I get a little money, I buy books. If any is left, I buy food and clothes,’ the philosopher Erasmus wrote. On November 4 meet talented local authors and artists right here in our community, and if you have a little extra money, buy one of their books. You’ll be glad you did!” County Executive Matt Meyer said.

The Hockessin Art & Book Fair is a collaboration between the Hockessin Library and Art Studio, along with the Hockessin Bookshelf, Center for the Creative Arts, The Written Remains Writers Guild, and All Out Monster Revolt.

Last year’s event drew over 500 attendees. Attendees are asked to register in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hockessin-art-book-fair-tickets-37740605166?aff=eac2.
