County Executive Matthew Meyer condemns hateful graffiti in County park

New Castle, DE – Yesterday, a family visiting Castle Hills Park discovered racist graffiti painted on children’s playground equipment. They made a report to New Castle County Police and an investigation was immediately opened. Police coordinated with County Parks staff who cleaned and reopened the equipment to the public this morning.

“Bigotry and intolerance have no place in Wilmington or in New Castle County and hate has no place in our county parks,” County Executive Meyer said. “Expressions of hate by a small number will ultimately only bring us together. I have asked our police department to make solving this crime a top priority. Please call (302) 573-2800 or visit www.NCCPD.com if you have information that can help investigators solve this crime.”
