Live Healthy New Castle County is about making it easier for everyone to live healthy and active lives. Live Healthy NCC is dedicated to increasing access to fresh and nutritious foods through the New Castle County Farmers Markets; providing affordable fitness activities, wellness programs, and health fairs at Community Recreation Centers; and encouraging residents to explore New Castle County Parks and discover the variety of free active living resources available in New Castle County.

Bring a friend and make a friend or two. Teaming up with others increases your motivation and helps you gain all the health benefits that come with regular walking. Discover miles of easy-to-moderate walking paths and trails in a variety of county parks. 

GET GOING WALKING CLUB


Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m; from September on walks will be held from 6:00- 7:00 p.m
 August 17, September 7, September 21, October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16
 
Shorter, easier trails in April and easy-to-moderate trails in May and June. Wear sturdy shoes and layers. Bring water and a snack. Trails are 2-3 miles. Adults. FREE

BABY GET GOING WALKING CLUB

Babies and toddlers in backpacks or strollers are encouraged to bring along their parents or other adult, sisters or brothers. Wear sturdy shoes and layers. Bring water and a snack. Trails are 2-3 miles. All ages. FREE

MIDDLE RUN PARK WALKING CLUB

Trails in this park are not paved and are somewhat hilly. There are many trails of various lengths throughout this beautiful natural area. If you are looking for a moderate workout in a gorgeous setting and a way to get those 10,000 steps in, this is the Walking Club for you. Open to all ages!

TALLEY DAY PARK WALKING CLUB


Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.- 11:15 a.m.

Perfect for a walk before or after a visit to the Brandywine Hundred Library. A pleasant paved and mostly wooded trail with a few gentle hills. Bundle the kids up and get some Vitamin D. This trail is appropriate for strollers, too. Meet at the library entrance. Open to all ages!
