Live Healthy New Castle County is about making it easier for everyone to live healthy and active lives. Live Healthy NCC is dedicated to increasing access to fresh and nutritious foods through the New Castle County Farmers Markets; providing affordable fitness activities, wellness programs, and health fairs at Community Recreation Centers; and encouraging residents to explore New Castle County Parks and discover the variety of free active living resources available in New Castle County.

Kids to Parks

Rockwood Park
Saturday, May 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Fun outdoor adventures and activities for the whole family. Learn a variety of "survival skills" from setting up a tent to orienteering. Join in nature hikes and scavenger hunts, along with presentations about local wildlife. The Kids to Parks Day is the perfect way for youngsters and their families to discover the many adventures available in New Castle County Parks. Nature Rangers

Rockwood Park
Saturdays, June 2-June 23, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Children learn about nature, plants, wildlife and ways to keep the environment and themselves healthy.  Explorations throughout the park.  Read more and register here.

Earth Day Hike

Middle Run Park

Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m.
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday Morning

Trails in this park are not paved and are somewhat hilly. There are many trails of various lengths throughout this beautiful natural area. If you are looking for a moderate workout in a gorgeous setting and a way to get those 10,000 steps in, this is the Walking Club for you. Open to all ages! CLICK TO SIGN UP

Talley Day Park

Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.- 11:15 a.m.
Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday Morning

Perfect for a walk before or after a visit to the Brandywine Hundred Library. A pleasant paved and mostly wooded trail with a few gentle hills. Bundle the kids up and get some Vitamin D. This trail is appropriate for strollers, too. Meet at the library entrance. Open to all ages! CLICK TO SIGN UP
