Dancing in the Park!

Dancing in the Park is presented in conjunction with National Dance Day 2014, an annual celebration launched by the Dizzy Feet Foundation in 2010 which “encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity.” New Castle County has embraced the day as a part of our Live Healthy New Castle County campaign with our partner See You Outside Delaware. The event is free for all, and both individuals and groups of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.

Individuals and dance groups will learn the National Dance Day routine and then perform as a large group flash mob style. The performance will be filmed. Dance along demonstrations will also be presented in Zumba, Bollywood, belly dancing, hula, Irish dancing, and contemporary dance. After the dance, stay and rock the night away to a live concert by Edna’s Tribe.

Participants are encouraged to bring chairs, water bottles, and blankets. Vendors will be on site selling food, but feel free to pack a picnic.
