New Castle County Summer Youth Workers

New Castle County’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a State funded program designed to provide meaningful work experience for socially and economically disenfranchised youth.  New Castle County will provided jobs through partnering employers for suburban New Castle County Youth, income-eligible ages 14 – 20.

The 2015 New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program will run from mid-June through August.

Applicants should have with them a fully completed application along with all required income statements and identification documents outlined in the application information.

NOTE: Your application WILL NOT be processed unless you bring the following documents to the application processing session.

Proof of

Acceptable Documents


  • Birth Certificate (copy acceptable)
  • State issued I.D., School-issued photo I.D., or drivers license (original required). 
  •  Recent utility bill, lease, or official mail  from Federal, State, or City agency.

Social Security Number

  • Social Security Card (original required)

Household Income

  • 2014 Income Tax Return OR 2014 W-2 OR copies of the 3 most recent paystubs 

  • Agency letter verifying Social Security, pension/retirement pay, disability, annuities, child support, unemployment, Medicaid, TANF, food benefits, DE Healthy Child Program, or other sources periodic income.
