Annual Maintenance Registration
All stormwater management facilities require some level of maintenance to operate properly. Ultimately, the maintenance organization is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the stormwater facilities located in the community.
Unfortunately, many maintenance organizations lack the expertise or experience in understanding the maintenance needs of these structures. Additionally, maintenance organizations were encountering problems budgeting for the long term maintenance of the facilities.
Accordingly, New Castle County eases the burden of residential stormwater management functions. It is important to note that maintenance organizations are still responsible for routine maintenance.
In order to qualify for financial assistance for major repairs, a maintenance corporation must register, and file an annual stormwater management facility inspection, and maintenance log with the Department of Special Services.
